World Class Composer, Editor, Song Writer, Performance Artist, Published Author.

Michael Canyon Drebert

Michael Canyon Drebert was born to entertain. From the early age of five, he was tutored in blues, jazz
and classical discipline on piano. In his early teens, he was staring in theater productions such as “Go Go
the Blue Gorilla,” at the Lucy Stern Theater in Palo Alto, CA and from that moment, he knew
entertainment was his calling.
It didn’t take long for Michael to put together his own band, Benny and the Jets, a tribute to the music
of Elton John and Bernie Taupin, which Elton himself endorsed! Playing gigs in festivals, casinos and
arenas, Michael began doing musical fundraisers for organizations such as the Jerry Lewis telethon
gaining him public notoriety and later brought onboard a management company.
When he’s not performing you can find him scoring indie films such as Rice Girl (Winner of Best Comedy
by the NY International Film Festival), or editing Indies like “Icons & Legends” (Platinum Best of Show
Winner of the Auroras Award) in which he also was the Music Supervisor.
Michael recently has done several teaser reels including one for our veterans that’s been very well
received, and another “The Death of the Arizona,” a 40 year reunion of Pearl Harbor where he not only
authored the DVD, but did the cover Art design as well. Additionally he did the DVD authoring for
“Badge of Honor “ a 150 year history of the LAPD, and was editor and composer of “The Divinci Robot,”
to bring awareness to the 50 perfect heart surgeries at USC.
These are just a few examples of Michael Canyon Drebert’s creative talent! He even landed the cover of
Billboard Magazine’s Dec 2007 issue for World Peace, and recently began writing a book about his
personal out of body experiences.
Michael is a member of: SCL (Society of Composers and Lyricists), NCSA (Northern California
Songwriters Association), NSAI Nashville Songwriters Association International) and an advocate for the
performing rights organizations BMI, ASCAP, and SESAC.
